Texture is my passion. Curly hair lights me up.
To me hair is expression, identity, art. Our hair is an outward expression of who we are inside. air is identity, self expression, art. My goal is to help as many people as I can feel comfortable and confident in their natural hair.

Behind the chair my I love designing innovative shapes and colors. My hair specialties include:-creative and innovative color: rainbow shades, adventurous cuts, highly textured hair (love!!) and wavy folks who don’t know if they belong on the curly spectrum (you do!)- I’ve got you. I love sculpting short hair shapes and I love a challenge. I take particular joy in assisting with transitions, whether from chemically straightened to natural texture, easing into to natural silver and gray, or altering gender presentation. I especially invite my queer family of all genders to this salon, where we understand the importance of a safe and validating space to find and express who you are.
My philosophy: I found my way to curly hair after career hopping through adventures in film making, music, puppetry, circus arts, and many social justice endeavors. My love for art and obsession with self empowerment led me to believe I could create a salon where looking good, feeling good, being good (to the earth and each other) came together. The best way to live your dream, is to make it happen. Behold, the birth of Curl Power Salon.
My history: In 2006 i graduated with a BA in Film Making from the College of Santa Fe, New Mexico. I had spent four years making movies AND cutting hair with my own intuitive method. I entered beauty school in 2008 after deciding I would rather work for myself than for Hollywood. I moved to Minneapolis in 2010 to pursue work as a puppeteer (really!) . My curl education began in 2011 and changed my life. I became a DevaCurl® educator in 2012 and opened my first salon in 2014. I was still craving the perfect container for my vision and so the first Curl Power Salon opened in 2016. After 2 and a half exciting years I felt ready to bring Curl Power to the next level. We opened at 50th and France in October of 2018. I am so excited for the years to come and all of the growth ahead of us.
